“A warm conspiracy comedy podcast that spends serious energy mocking and satirizing many conspiratorial ideas and mainstream ideas alike, valuing them with thoughtful and authentic insight in conversation with listeners by way of current events and internet article headlines. This is a show that gets better the more episodes you listen to– the learning curve of "OBDM" is steep, for it takes repeated exposure to get familiar with the show's intricate, uncommon format and Midnight Mike's and Joe's (+ clownbaby's?) dynamic and their shared general temperament which is very honest and very human. That said, I knew I loved the show from the first listen, after migrating here by recommendation via sister-podcast "Cruzin' with Steak". Midnight Mike is a really challenging radio host for me to understand; allow me to continue! The elephant in the house of "OBDM" is the constant air of mystery around Midnight Mike, who's spoken opinions are much less provocative and rare than 'we' might crave for, as a conspiracy hungry community... but being the consistently-strong, noble, technically-adept wizard of audio-clipping and content curating– the cheerful animated crux 'round which "OBDM" revolves– the complex position of Midnight Mike only adds to my continued interest in the show. Growing to really appreciate these hosts in their nuanced dialogue, it's no wonder "OBDM" has been providing content for over a decade. I'm happy to press play in 2018 and maybe next year too :* I love you!
