“I don’t listen to podcasts very often, mainly because I lose interest after 10-15min and just don’t have the patience/attention span for them. I could barely get through 2.5 episodes of Serial (there is clearly something wrong with me). With that in mind, I listened to six episodes of About Race in one sitting and I am addicted. They cover a lot in each episode and keep the conversation moving and I have yet to find myself lose interest. The b-sides are great and I love that the show encourages and supports listeners’ feedback. It creates a much more dynamic conversation and they are equally interesting episodes even though they are covering the same topics from the previous episode. The hosts are great and offer smart, multi-faceted, and self-critiquing opinions on very complicated, nuanced issues. The Yo Check It Out segment is also great and has turned me on to a lot of material that I otherwise would never have found/sought out on my own. Cannot express how much I love this podcast (and I really do not care for podcasts).”
