I started listening compulsively to this tragic story and I do think it is a brilliant podcast overall. However I did find some of Stephen’s questioning very insensitive and what he termed as ‘being direct’ was just downright unthoughtful at times. I found myself cringing and being thankful that Dan was on hand to tone his thoughtlessness down. That said, the whole story was compelling, tragic and brilliantly told. One of my faves to date.

compared with some of the really smart stuff out there – eg, The Hurricane Tapes – this struck me as a really clunky bit of work. An incredible true story told with empathy, care and honesty, pieced together by sheer tenacity and diligence and showcasing all that is to be admired and feared in human nature. Thanku BBC, a little treasure from a national treasure.
