“There’s just not very much oomph to it. I love Parks and Rec and was hoping to hear a show featuring two people who have that same fervor. It seems more like some studio wanted to replicate Office Ladies, and Rob Lowe and Alan Yang were the only ones willing to do it. Unlike Office Ladies, it seems like Parks and Rec was just a period of their lives rather than a defining part of it. Which is of course totally ok, but doesn’t necessarily make for great listening so far. It’s frustrating listening to Rob Lowe know practically nothing about the show before he was on it and Alan Yang who has some good insights, but feels a little too detached from the magic of it all. Of course they’re only two episodes in, so I may come back to it later on. But for now, it’s not a very fun listen.”
