In 1908 a little hymnal was complied for South African Christian gatherings, sourcing hymns from as early as the 1500s. This beautiful collection of 400 English Hymns and Choruses was also translated into Afrikaans. While the original music for these verses have been mostly lost, the words remain. Even without musical accompaniment they have proven to be the most excellent spiritual poems for nourishment to the Christian soul. These are they.
