“Shocked, disgusted, moved, heart-broken, amazed and speechless. Too many adjectives are needed to describe both the dreadful experience that Alexis had to endure, and her unbelievable courage and bravery to escape from the very people who are supposed to be helping her! Shame on anyone who abuses people in this way. It is even more heart-breaking because she actively sought help from professionals and trusted them to help her. After listening, I felt disgusted by the lack of humanity shown by those involved in the horrendous treatment of vulnerable patients. However, I also felt very uplifted and inspired by the friends who risked their own safety to help another human being. Thank heavens for those people.”
