Description
A listener asks, “From my understanding when we ask for forgiveness, God will forget us as far as the east from the west… I also understand that there will be a judgment day… If he forgets as far as the East on the west and why will we have to stand before Him in judgment for our actions?”
Does she mean forget or forgive? Are our sins remembered, or not.
Dr. Jeremy Grinnell, who earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, and taught theology at a local seminary for nearly 15 years, answers this question and more with Biblical expertise and the heart of a pastor.
Shawna honestly shares with Jeremy how she knows God is calling her to do something she’s woefully unqualified to do while at the same time is asking her to let go of something she wants to hold on to. Is it possible the two are connected?
Jeremy also takes on the following questions:
“Will some people get greater rewards in Heaven than others? I've heard people talk of wanting to do greater works or, when serving, not wanting help because help would come between God and their reward. Isn't the great reward being in the presence of our God and Savior? Does God's Word speak to this?”
“Joseph told the Israelites to take his bones when they left Egypt. Did they carry his bones around for 40 years? Others who died in the desert were probably buried in the sand the same day. Was it because he was royalty and God's leader that his remains were treated differently? Also, the time of grieving in the Bible is long... 40 days or 70 days? We get a day or two. Was that amount of time prescribed by the culture? Situation? Importance of the person?”
Lastly, are you right with God? It's never to late to get right with God. Rob Pitts got right with God after a friend shared about salvation. Take the time to get right with God, before it's too late!
