“Hello,
I have just listened to “Planet Normal” and thought it was excellent. Having read many articles written by both of you in the Telegraph it was interesting to hear your voices and thoughts.
It was so refreshing not to hear journalists trying to catch people out and point scoring but just commenting on what is going on in a constructive way.
I heard Nick Robinson this morning berating Matt Hancock and trying to get him to say something more dramatic about Dominic Cumming’s transgressions, he put up a good fight. He was also accused by Kay Burley on Sky of announcing track and trace in order to take the heat off. It seems to me Matt is doing the very best he can in a very difficult situation and making good progress. God only knows how many hours he works in order to achieve this. Why doesn’t anybody say thank you to him and other politicians who, in the current situation, are working so hard and do not deserve quite so much flack.
Boris nearly lost his life, as you mention in your podcast, yet he gets regular abuse despite his Government’s excellent handling of the pandemic. I am sure when the scores are in at the end of this situation, in regards to extra deaths suffered by various countries, we will have done pretty well compared to Brazil, USA or indeed Africa which I am sure has it all to come.
Well done!
Looking forward to hearing the next Podcast.
