Great first episode
Really looking forward to polite but robust analysis of the choices we have made before and the choices we have ahead of us, free of the need to lurch to rhetoric caused by close allegiance to the existing party machines. Really liked how they calmly considered the very different approaches for dealing with pensioner poverty and the open discussion about how an incumbent can take the fight to an opposition party, and how the opposition knowing what they are doing, can counter that. Too many of the rivals of this podcast, understanding the revulsion most people have for Punch and Judy politics, have gone too far and become a bromance or allowed one contributor to dominate, often also drifting to the left or right and lost one half of the perspective. I hope this remains like those evenings with your best friend who votes the other way. Insightful, entertaining, respectful, understanding, making sure all have their equal say, finding common ground but sticking to your guns and making robust points where you believe there is a better way. At the end, never letting it get in the way of your friendship so you know there are many more pleasant evening debates ahead. I shall listen with interest.

Great to have intelligent conversation from opposite sides of the fence. No hatred on here like you get with the Alistair Campbell one.

I remember Ed as the JCR President at Keble. For balance Andy Street was the year above me. Even then it was clear he was a born politician. The interplay between them is fantastic and the insights behind the scenes is wonderful. The late Queen and the Highland music school was hilarious. I...Read full review »
