Thin
The hosts' analysis is generally quite thin, pretty much what you might hear at a college lunch table: basically a standard regurgitation of more or less conventional liberal takes on contemporary goings-on. Equally important, two of the hosts voices can be quite grating on the ears. Slate can better staff this one -- the cultural podcast is quite well done and has smart, thoughtful commentary. Finally, the cocktail chatter bit is a bit patronizing, at least as it is framed by the hosts. KCRW's Left, Right, and Center is a recommended alternative.Read full review »
