“I’ve been listening to PTO for over five years now - not quite right from the start but not too far off - and in that time I’ve listened to pretty much every episode, including most of the back catalogue as it existed when I first started listening.
It is a great podcast, probably my favourite left podcast out there. It’s kind of like The Dig but somehow manages to be just as informative in about half the run time per episode (which isn’t a “dig” at The Dig, just an observation/opinion). Alex is a fantastic host, a very perceptive reader and a talented interviewer. Indeed, I think it says a lot that someone like Adam Tooze, who has a million and one things of his own going on, and doesn’t really even share Alex’s politics, is a repeat guest. Most recently, his output on the war in Gaza has been really great, but there’s so much more that the podcast has covered over the years, and long may it continue!
I’d also really recommend supporting the show on Patreon - the extra content is definitely worth it for the price of less than half a coffee a week.
