I listened with interest to the following critics on your show this week. These critics were, Harrison Lowman, managing editor of The Hub, writer Rupa Subramanya of The Free Press, and freelance writer Sabrina Maddeaux. Actually I listened a couple of times. While I can agree that sometimes...Read full review »

Your critics of the CBC in the latest episode were patently ignorant. Long live the CBC.

Love the pod, guests and topics, but Elamin has got to stop saying “yeah” all the time. Once you notice you can’t I hear it. Yeah!

I listen daily. I’ve appreciated learning about new goings on in the culture and Elamin is a fantastic host.

No bias. No bullxxxx. Eeks out the best in people, and the most telling comments. Pop culture at its very best.

El Amin’s big heart, passion, insight, deep care, great rapport, all make this show just absolutely bangin’. I love it. One of the few cbc shows I will Always catch up on podcasts if I miss it live. Love this dude, and all the guests and convos.

Love this format for discussing pop culture! The guests are insightful and provide diverse viewpoints which keeps it engaging. The episodes covering the Oscars were especially excellent. I wish we had more critique of celebrity in pop culture podcasts, along with all the fandom, and this podcast...Read full review »

Preface: I LOVE THIS SHOW I discovered this show one time I had the radio on and thank goodness that I did. I love Elamin. He feels like a friend talking through the radio. The guests are hilarious and I find myself stifling laughter as I listen on the train. I frequently have not heard or seen...Read full review »

Elamin does an amazing job of explaining pop culture phenomena but also being interesting enough that a super fan will enjoy. I used to love listening to Q (still do sometimes) but this podcast has the brevity and flow I’ve been craving. Let’s just talk about cool things and try to figure out...Read full review »

Love this podcast in general and listening to this particular episode, I was struck by the fact that no one mentioned that research released this year shows drinking any alcohol is bad for your health. GenZ is tuned in. They grew up with the internet after all. As a parent of a GenZ I can attest...Read full review »

Was a huge fan of Pop Chat and listened even if I wasn’t familiar with the topic because I loved the chemistry between Elamin, Amil and Kevin. Elamin is great but it’s just not the same.

This is my favourite pop culture podcast. I'm pretty out of touch with mainstream stuff and have always been a bit of an underground weirdo so this keeps me in the loop about the big picture.Read full review »

Self righteous opinions by a bunch of narcissists have a time and place, a national broadcast is not one of them.

Great to have a Canadian equivalent to Culture Gabfest. I really enjoyed the last show this host did and was sad to have discovered it just before it was cancelled. This makes up for it!

Are you kidding? Has anyone seen Euphoria? How about Industry? Sex is alive and well on streaming. That said, I enjoy this group and enjoy listening to their take on pop culture.

I’m a tried and true Elamin fan. Love this podcast. It is much more tailored than Popchat and I kinda miss that chaos. I’m all in if it’s Elamin.

Pop Chat has become a weekly listen for me- the hosts are funny, thoughtful and entertaining. I love that they dive a little deeper into whatever light and gossipy entertainment news that has filled my social feeds that week with humour and insight. I look forward to it every week!

This show is ok to leave in the background while doing chores on but could value from having a few younger hosts (at least 2). The takes are often out of touch and miss the mark on what’s going. If you use this to catch up, it’s ok.
