Could be much better
Initially I found this podcast to be somewhat entertaining. Usually once I feel I get to "know" hosts of a podcast better, I start to enjoy it more. The opposite is true in this case. The banter and discussion seems to exclude rather than include the listener. Commentary becomes predictable and conversations consist of inside jokes and quite honestly...snobbery and elitism. Suggestions for improvement: When trying to expose us (listeners or as your might consider some of us...the uncultured, uneducated masses) to new things, make us feel like we might get it rather than make us feel like we will never get it. Also, include more audience participation. Reach for and then discuss feedback. Finally, provide a little bit of explanation about subject matter to provde context to your 30 minutes of discussion/opinions. We don't all watch/read/listen to what you are discussing at the moment. It's nice to hear what is making you happy, but try explaining why it might make ME happy too.Read full review »

Love this show! Great chemistry between the hosts, I feel like I'm listening in on a natural conversation. Love the topics, as well as the banter. It's like the less geeky "Big Bang Theory" for NPR. Thanks for talking about comic books and muppets, and thanks for making me laugh.Read full review »

Fun
It's fun to listen to but I prefer just the PCHH. is there any way to separate this from the other? Plus the episodes need to be numbered so I can keep things organized. Car Talk numbers their show!Read full review »

I had slowed down on my Culturetopia intake, I listen to NPR all day so by 'topia it was feeling a bit familiar. (Though still welcome.) Then, as I shopped the isles of my grocery store at 1am, I come to the Happy Hour episodes. What fun. Smart people taking on the heady peaks and nougaty...Read full review »
