“PROs : They talk about topics I'm interested in.
CONS : Terrible sound quality; some of the voices are distant, some are loud, the music is annoyingly piercing. I'm constantly reaching for the volume control because the show is so poorly mixed. The music itself is irritatingly stupid. The show needs serious editing (episode 3 is almost 3 hours long). Whenever geeks use foul language they always end up sounding like morons. There is a lot of fake incredulity and shouting in episode 2 regarding Iron Man 3. A weird rating system that isn't really helpful to the listener. The show is filled with spoilers, so it's only worthwhile to listen to this show if you have already seen the movie that they are talking about, which furthermore negates the value of a ratings system. Looks like some fake 5-star reviews on this site (Astroturf).
CONCLUSION : It's too early to tell if this podcast is for me. Many podcasts get off to bad starts because of the audio levels. If these guys stick with it, invest in a mixer, tighten up the episodes with editing, and present a more positive attitude, then this one might have some value. The super-geek + foul language combo might be a deal breaker for me, though. For some reason that really bugs me, but I'm willing to ride it out for a few more episodes.
