When I first saw Mick Garris would be hosting a horror podcast, I was pretty psyched - I subscribed immediately. The Rob Zombie and Eli Roth episodes were awesome (and the sole reason for the two stars) pretty much just discussions about what inspired them and stories about how they made their movies. Pure entertainment. Then, I downloaded the John Landis / Joe Dante episode. Instead of hearing stories about their filmmaking, I got 20 minutes of political opinions under the guise of all horror is social commentary. This is not what I look for in entertainment. I didn't like Romero's movies because of his political message, I like them because they are great movies. Now I will always think of these two directors I once respected as has beens trying to outdo each other with their anecdotes about how they were once the only white person at a predominantly black event to show how progressive they were for the times.Read full review »

Mick Garris has always struck me as a sincere, nerdy fan of the genre, as well as a stunning...Read full review »
