Not that impressive
I was expecting something really amazing from the people who brought us the Leaky Cauldon site. What I got instead is a clique of presenters that find their in-jokes hilarious, give slavish, almost embarrassing-to-listen-to praise and asides to JK Rowling over inconsequential tidbits of information, done in an overtly "name-dropping" fashion, and a complete lack of editing. I am not able to waste an hour weekly listening to people breathe into their microphones, have long pauses in the broadcast when they are obviously searching for something to say, and rambling discourses that excludes the listener who cannot be privy to all the things they are giggling over. I am glad that these people are such friends, but I don't think it makes for good broadcasting. I fully recognize that the podcast is a labor of love, and that people take time and money to produce it. But for all the rave reviews, I just don't find it that entertaining or informative. The one exception are the interviews, which is the only reason that I am still a subscriber. In short, the presenters find themselves so amusing that they don't bother to entertain the public at large. Guess I just missed the Knight Bus with this one.Read full review »

I also like how the standard podcasts are divided into recurring segments so I know what to expect. Having interviews...Read full review »

This podcast is great! It was one of the first podcasts I subscribed to, and I have been addicted ever since. The hosts, John, Melissa, and Sue, are great, funny and entertaining. It is paced just right, so that it doesn't drag on too long but you can still get to the meat of the issue. Great...Read full review »
