I love The Principle of Charity. It’s gentle, thoughtful and a wonderful way to make you think, make you more compassionate, and make your opinions less ferocious.

I’m loving this podcast- just what we need right now. I think Emile and Lloyd are fantastic hosts. And the guest lineups are very impressive! Hope you guys keep going from strength to strength. 👍

This is what is missing from most online content: deliberate and careful consideration of the alternate view. So refreshing!

Although I think this podcast needs “something,” which I’m unable to identify because I’m just a listener, the approach is mission critical for humanity. It’s not needing higher production value. And the topics are solid. Maybe it’s the consistency of the format, which varies somewhat. The pizza...Read full review »

Just heard about your podcast on josh szeps show and have just listened to the interview with Tim Minchin. Thoroughly enjoyed and feel grateful for the exploration of such important ideas. Making peace with uncertainty and exploring each others perspectives is truly the intellectual or in fact...Read full review »

I love these cozzies and their guest discussing important issues with a refreshing agenda of not winning but using discussion to seek the truth … and for me it’s really working it’s completely refreshing and I have found myself changing to prefer the principle of charity as a challenge to...Read full review »

What an awesome premise for a podcast! Emile and Lloyd do a fantastic job of curating topics and guests that can’t help but provoke deep thinking on not only the topic at hand, but how you live your life and interact with the world around you. It’s an absolute joy and I’m honestly going to be...Read full review »

I listened to an add for this podcast about 4 times trying to hear the title of the podcast. I’m pretty sure it was never mentioned!! Please say it at the beginning and at the end of the ad so people know what to look for!!! Haven’t started listening yet but am very keen :-)

I just started listening to your pod cast and I really enjoy the way you have opposing views from people at polar opposites listening to each other’s perspective, responding and then turning the discussion around looking through a different lens. It inspires me to be better. I have always been a...Read full review »

I just heard the most cogent discussion between 2 conservative thinkers! Amazing - a great project on ethics and dialogue. Keep it up 👍

Such a generous, open-hearted and honest discussion about something that influences every part of our lives. Tim is so eloquent and articulate and astute, I could listen to him talk about anything, and the hosts are doing such a good job of facilitating very interesting discussions. Thanks

I just finished listening to the episode with Tim Minchin (took me a few car rides to get through it!)…so insightful and thought provoking! Tim is so easy to listen to, and even though he is so much more eloquent & intelligent than me, I felt I could understand him and follow along easily....Read full review »

This show leaches the hate out of conflict. This team is full of good intentions and actually helps the listener to get rid of knee-jerk reactions.

I have shared this podcast with many people who I think will listen to it. Is the principle of charity is a muscle but seems to have atrophied evening current social media climate. Listening to people speaking this way with each other is a reminder of how we can contribute to better conversations...Read full review »

One of the best podcast series I have listened to. The research around what are incredibly interesting and different topics is clearly deep which leads to some excellent discussion between hosts and guests alike.

A very informative discussion about the morality of eating meat, although the tendency of Ondine Sherman (any relation?) to interrupt while Matthew was speaking rather undermined the concept of respectful listening to someone elses's views. Her dismissal of the billions of deaths of animals...Read full review »

Congratulations, truly empowering and hopefully life changing for those that embrace what seems to be an antidote to a Western culture’s lack of ability to truly listen and absorb polarised alternative thoughts for a balanced viewpoint. Dean @ Bronte

I think it’s timely to have a podcast like this in an era of increasing polarisation on radicalisation. It’s interesting to hear two educated, articulate people defend their positions. It would be potentially more interesting to see if you could facilitate a debate between more ‘ordinary’...Read full review »

A superb podcast where all involved did so with intelligence, insight and most of all, respect. So often we are quick to articulate the points in an argument to try prove ‘I’m right and you’re wrong’. As this podcast so well demonstrated, it seems that even with seemingly opposing belief systems,...Read full review »

I’ve listened to many podcasts on the topic of ethical eating - this is by far the best. The podcast presents both sides of the argument from two expert guests - which is so enlightening. It’s prompted me to make some important changes - only ever eat animal products that have been “ethically”...Read full review »

I learnt a lot about an important topic - the morality of meat eating. Both guests were well informed and articulate, and the moderating of the discussion was superb, seeking common ground and being respectful but not avoiding areas of disagreement. Highly recommended.
