“Okay, I just finished listening to season 1 this morning while getting ready for work &, whew, it was WAY too long!! It took me FOREVER to get through it!! It didn’t need to be THAT long; it was a total of 34 (yes, 34!) episodes long!! Even normal TV show seasons (before COVID 😒) weren’t THAT long!! WAY too many “Bonus” episodes were added that could have just been part of the main episodes, honestly! And all the ads only made them seem even longer (thankfully, I could skip through them otherwise I’d have given up on this series a LONG time ago)!! I’m not kidding some of the ad breaks were like 2 minutes long & there was MORE than one break, including in the “Bonus/Sidebar” episodes! It’s like why pay a subscription for the bonus content if they are just include ads EVEN in the bonus content, too … !! 😒 Now, normally, I don’t mind Bonus Episodes; in fact, I usually love more content from podcasts I like, but this was just too many & didn’t offer too much more to the main story. Also, at one point, in the bonus content the podcasters just went off on a useless tangent that had NOTHING to do with the main story & in another bonus episode, they just started talking about a totally different “crime update” that had NOTHING to do with the crime that the story IS really about!! Like what?! Why are you c confusing me by talking about ANOTHER crime that has LITERALLY nothing to do with this one?!?! 😒 Also, almost all the interviews/court proceedings had really bad audio & was really hard to understand what anyone was saying; I had turned the volume up on most of the interviews just to try to understand what they were saying … And then, all the ads were also REALLY loud, too … 😒 Anyway, I ended up giving the show 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because, in the end, I liked it! It had a happy ending! 😀 But it was just too long, still … Also, I’m left wondering if anyone offered the deaf man (I’m sorry, I forgot his name) proper adult ASL (American sign language) classes; I know that in some places there’re offered for free (if not online) & it just broke my heart that he was never taught proper ASL so he could communicate with the deaf community now that he’s an adult. He has the right to refuse it of course, but I’m wondering if it was ever offer to him in the first place; it was never addressed in the podcast … 🥺 Don’t know if I’ll listen to Season 2 or not, especially if it’s gonna be as drawn out as Season 1 … Maybe I’ll take a little break until I start on S2! 😅”
