Celery and Thanksgiving
For me, stuffed celery and Thanksgiving are inseparable. The family story holds that my parents heard crunching sounds from my bedroom, in the night, only to find that I was under my covers eating a stalk of celery, nearly sixty years ago. Thank you for the episode. Trends of a faraway day influence my favorite food. I had no idea. ... and you provide the answer to why the celery is only that harsh green with inedible outer stalks — a mystery solved. We peel away the outer and thrill to the pale heart. Bring on the cream cheese.
