This is such a great podcast, not just climbing, but also some climbing!
This is such a great podcast, not just climbing, but also some climbing! I was aware of Andy K from years ago having bought stuff from him in Outside and seen him speak in the late 90’s. I haven’t yet read any of his books though I am definitely going to change this. His voice is refreshingly real and his points of view well thought out. I think there is a tendency to knee jerk against his occasionally flippant seeming “sound bites” but he has largely considered his position on things and it is nice to hear someone speaking their undeniably intelligent mind. Some impatient people have criticised the rambling and audiophiles the sound quality and background noise but I think these add to the richness of the Pod. Its all part of the journey. If you just want data on knot strength or beta on routes then perhaps this is not for you, but then again perhaps this is exactly what you really need. I have been mainlining back catalogue of this podcast so much I think I know have a hull accent, and I am feeling melancholy that I will soon be up to date and I will have to await each episode as they are recorded.

So much in each of these episodes. Listened to the first episode about three times with various friends.

The first twenty minutes of the ‘navigation’ podcast is an incoherent ramble about refugees, diversity, women, and trans people. None of it subjective, none of it based on any sort of reason or fact, just a biased old man who’s lost his way. Simply awful.
