“Pete Lutz is one of the most freakishly prolific audio drama producers around. And I write this in the most loving way. He somehow finds the time to assemble massive casts (although I really don't know about that guy who played the lead in "The King's Prerogative"), write loving addaptations of old pulp tales (including "The Third Man," Robert Bloch, and even old episodes of QUIET, PLEASE) and to do so with a clear passion for the form in every installment. But he manages to do this without his shows sounding like cloying OTR imitations. These are very loving tributes to an old form revitalized for today's listeners. I can't help but seeing Pete as that dependable guy in the bar, telling a few old tales and reminding us why they have endured as long as they have and why they are WORTH telling. Other audio dramas offer mimesis. Pete offers vivacity. These shows are great listening for long commutes to remind you why some of the older entertainment forms are worth preserving.”
