Used to be a staple of my triathlon and fitness education and was a former PP athlete but I feel that podcasts as of late are just advertisements for becoming a PP athlete.

I was a big follower and also bought the books. However in the last year or so, this seems to have become a commercial platform pushing testing companies and other products. Has become a lot like Triathlon Taren (Motiv). Hopefully can come back from this…..

Almost everything Matt talks about is directly applicable to other aspects of life, although the primary focus is clearly triathlon performance oriented. Turns out what works for triathlon works on the job and sometimes even family life. The content well researched, thoughtfully put together into...Read full review »

I find there’s lots of useful content in each episode (although I miss the episodes where there was an interview). Audio quality has recently decreased though, which makes it less enjoyable to listen to.

It is a must to keep any athlete balanced. I went from reading his book to listening to the podcast to being a part of the squad. I’ve been a triathlete for nearly 20 years, a coach and personal trainer since 2008 and continue to learn from Mr Dixon.

I’ve been listening to the shows since the podcast started but I gave up on three shows ago No 185 after listening to 20 minutes of self promotion and promotion of the quest the No 186 I listen 10 minutes before I lost patience with the self promotion and teasers about what might be in the show....Read full review »

the Jungian thing, sir. Dixon is a sharp, intelligent well versed high performance coach. I enjoy his books and I wish him success. However, with his tone on this pod, it is a shame he did not choose to be an elementary teacher.

I love the pod. However I listen on Spotify, so I could not rate the show. After the word of the week became vaccine, showing true commitment to a better life for all, I took the extra mile to download Apple Podcast and rate this amazing show. Thank you!

Consistently one of the best podcasts, triathlon or otherwise, period! Each week is interesting, insightful and professionally put together. Not many folks can chat solo for 45-60 minutes and keep an audience captivated week after week, but Matt Dixon does it routinely with ease.

Thank you Matt and Purple Patch team. I thoroughly live listening to the podcasts, especially episode 103: adult onset swimming. I’ve just learnt in the last 5 years. I’m 43, wife and a mother to 3 children. I’m a homemade triathlete who “tries hard”. Thank you so much!!

Matt takes a unique approach to coaching - very insightful and often counterintuitive. We’ve all heard just about enough of the “more is better” coaching. Refreshing to find someone who respects athletes’ time and long term outcomes. Big fan!
