“TLDR: If you think there’s a lot of triathlon podcasts out there and you have no time to listen to them, you have time for this one.
Recently on my lunch break I ran to the library to grab a copy of Joe Friel’s triathlon training bible. As an ex-endurance cyclist (who burned out during university studies), I was delighted to see Joe Friel had a triathlon training bible (similarly comprehensive to his one on cycling) and was ready to build some hardcore training plans. To my dismay it was sold out in my bookstore but one copy of the Fast Track Triathlete was left and I found the premise highly intriguing so I bought it.
Reading it on the train home my heart was racing. It felt amazing to read Matt Dixon put so much emphasis on life and recovery to fuel performance. Reading it I noted pitfalls I had made in the past and might’ve made again had I ended up in a different bookstore. After reading the book I needed more material for the train ride home and ended up serendipitously stumbling into this podcast!
It is too early (one episode so far) to fully judge this podcast but I am extremely excited to assign this to my podcast roster. If it is like his prior work we’re in for a treat. If you’re reading this Matt Dixon thanks for your mission to enrich life through intense training that honours pragmatism. My girlfriend and I are excited to subscribe and add this to our key podcast listening sessions :)”
