Good But…
I was deep into the story until Episode 6. That’s when he gets into the protagonists experience with losing custody of her child in Family Court and the narrator says, “Mother’s are almost always given custody in Family Court. If they lose it, you can bet it’s for a good reason”. That is SO incredibly naive, especially for someone doing a podcast about a con artist! In fact, protective mothers are fighting for -and losing- custody of their children in family court to con artists/ narcissists, at astonishing rates. Projecting the misguided idea that if a mother has lost custody she obviously did something very bad to merit that is further stigmatizing victims of a system which is already very broken.

I look forward to Thursdays and will be sad when it’s over! What a fascinating story and Jonathan’s presenting style is so human; I feel like I’ve been on a real rollercoaster with him.
