“Much said about how sharing a story “might help someone”, how people do this even though it is unclear what they may get out of it…. Nothing said about how it helps YOU. You are the person being helped. if your work was at all about the other person, helping them, then you wouldn’t be so focused on some invented other who hopefully will exist at some point. If you were trying to help the other person you could just do that. But you don’t, because you aren’t. It is about you. Interesting conversation , but i’m ready to hear a journalist say something new. Or at least offer some honesty about being the ones who benefit from the telling of a story. Thank you - Love, Maddy”
