Absolutely loved this conversation. I think - no disrespect Vanessa, as you clearly worshipped them - that you’re parents were nuts for not being constantly charmed and delighted with you on every level! I cannot imagine thinking that my daughters were ‘less than or not enough’. Perhaps it was...Read full review »

Rachel's interview skills are shockingly poor. She fails to listen to her guests who know much more about themselves and their area of expertise than Rachel does. She does not seem to be be able to frame a simple question. Rather she interviews by putting statements to guests which are often...Read full review »

Difficult women brings on some interesting guests but Johnson is a vacuous and shallow interviewer. A lot of the time she collapses into her own personal anecdotes and references to her privileged friends and upbringing. She likes self-awareness and doesn't seem to connect with her most...Read full review »

Sometimes Rachel has guests on and the topic makes it a really difficult listen but she has skill and empathy with her interviews and they are not to be missed.

Had to stop listening when I realized she’s a TERF.

I really enjoy these podcasts and find them to be varied and often compelling. I always feel I've learned something after listening and enjoy hearing about the lives and many challenges experienced by the guests. It's great to hear influential female voices.Read full review »

Supporting the indefensible and talking complete nonsense

Really enjoy these interviews. Rachel does need to try a bit harder to hide her bias. Rosey Duffield had a much harder time, unusually as most of the interviews are warm, than say Andrea Jenkyns, who just swooned over Boris.

Listening to Francis and Andrea…… Gosh, what vacuous, silly interviews. It reminded me of the 1950’s and / or Stepford Wives. Rachel Johnson is brighter than this, no challenge or critique. Wasted time.

A combination so awful it was essential listening for me. Absolute drivel from two particularly nasty people.

Is Felicity Mercer a difficult woman? Or just a cantankerous busy-body? Waste of time.

A LOOOONG time ago, Rachel Johnson almost spoke sense. I’m afraid this podcast almost made me feel physically ill. The sheer arrogance of Johnson, the “everybody is wrong, but I’m always right” arrogance was nauseating! As for Felicity Cornelius-Mercer, what an abominable person! Obnoxious,...Read full review »

Abi Austen is not a woman, he’s a man. Hence the one star.

These can be a bit hit and miss and there’s an alarmingly high proportion of Rach’s mates who make the cut for what I can only describe as a circle unloading.

A fantastic podcast that gets to the nitty gritty of what it is to succeed. These women do not speak to promote themselves like on so many other podcasts but share valuable insight into the challenges they’ve faced throughout the professional and private. Just wish more of them got the...Read full review »

Barbara Amiel was an arrogantly uninformed guest. This review gets 2 stars because the host corrected this horrible guest on at least one significant lie. Ms. Amiel said something like "North American women are horribly spoiled." What utter unkind ignorance pretending to be insightful and...Read full review »

A really lacklustre interview of Lynne Barber. Constant butting in and the most superficial questions that skimmed over her career. It feels like she’s just getting her to repeat things she said in Desert Island Discs or in her book an Education. What value is any of this to the listener? I hope...Read full review »

I can not believe how Rachel said to Tina around 20:30 into the podcast, “ Oh yes, you met Harold and started romancing him while he was still married and eventually married him”. Unbelievably obnoxious thing to say to a guest that Rachel supposedly “adores”. No matter our opinion on what the...Read full review »

Listened to one episode with Jo Wood and sounds like another gossip show in a time warp. I stopped after hearing the question, “how do you keep your husband happy?”
yellikeh via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/27/21
These aren’t difficult women. They’re irritating women who spend their time jumping up and down shouting “Look at me”. Incidentally, the correct description for Stanley Johnson is Dirty Old Man.

Surprise surprise, Ms Johnson is getting a load of grief for being a well-educated, articulate, middle-aged female. How dare she be so well-spoken! How dare she be past her prime and yet speak in public when she should by rights be living in a cardboard box, wearing wrinkly tights and darning...Read full review »

Wanted to give this the benefit of the doubt but nope... White women privilege and woefully ungrounded in most people’s reality. When will the Johnson’s and their ilk just sit down and shut up already? Everything that makes Britain outdated and cringey. Like Boris Like Bore off.

Good title. I enjoyed the conversational style. Ms. Johnson is an excellent journalist & independent thinker in her own right despite the blanket judgments that may be directed at her because of one of her siblings.

“Difficult women” ohh the irony, bunch of aging middle class women holding establishment views with all the right on/woke opinions in their NPC heads, wittering on like it’s 1980. Its not cool any more, thatcher was years ago. You're the establishment now and frankly f’in boring at that too.Read full review »
