“This is an entertaining podcast to be sure. As an avid Riordan fan, it is nice to hear other people appreciate his work, and make sometimes insightful comparisons to other YA literature. The dynamic where B has not read the series I think mkaes for some interesting conversations. The biggest negative for me is that neither of the hosts seems to be particularly knowledgable about mythology. I don't care so much about mispronunciations (it's ancient Greek, and as long as I know what you mean who cares?). I think it would benefit the show to at least occasionally have a guest host whos knows the myths more in depth. For example, I just finished 2.12 and Zach's explanation for the next chapter was related to pirates, but having read the books I know the sirens are what is coming up, and the pirate connection made no sense to me. Really minor complaint. I just think it would be interesting sometimes to delve more into the myths behind the PJO universe, and explore how they're being retold!”Read full review »
