I want to like it, but can’t (yet)
There’s a good idea for a show here: Interesting, funny hosts covering a subject that people love. However, the execution is flawed. The show is little more than one host mentioning a TV show title, followed by the other host shrieking “I REMEMBER THAT!” And then singing the show’s theme song purposely (I hope) off-key. The show needs more focus. The episode themes are way too broad. For instance: Cartoons could be broken down into smaller topics (Disney, Nickelodeon, Saturday morning, etc.). That way there can be some discussion/riffing rather than just quick mentions. I think this show will get better as Jon and Lauren develop the format, but right now it feels like a work in progress. I’ll keep listening to the show because of the hosts and the subject, but I hope it grows into something with a bit more substance.

I'm already hooked after one episode. I love Lauren and Jon, and together they are hilarious. This is the perfect dose of nostalgia for 80's and 90's kids. Because you know how much we love talking about the past and how weird everything was.Read full review »
