The Joy of Movies
This is a five-star podcast without a shadow of a doubt! David Edwards leads his eager student David Earl through the world of movie news, tips and reviews, with Mandy on hand to provide randomisation duties (and a touch of friction). I would have given this podcast the full 6 stars, but I've dropped it down to 5 as Mr Earl has started to exhibit a casual aura of unproffesionalism in which he seems to be using the pod as the ideal time to eat his breakfast on a Saturday morning! On one memorable occasion he seemingly planned a breakfast delivery from his wife to be intentionally in the middle of recording! As Mr Edwards professionally relays his pearls of movie wisdom, you may be treated to the shockingl sounds of Mr Earl's spoon clattering around his porridge bowl! On another occasion you may hear Mr Earl's hungry lips smacking on mic as he deals with his first meal of the dayl, or you could even find yourself listening to Mr Earl attempting to reply to Mr Edwards with a mouth half-filled with breakfast (although you get the distinct impression that he thinks he is cleverly speaking normally and therefore pulling the wool over the listeners ey... ears! It's very much like listening to a drunken man claiming to be sober while slurring his words). I feel this carefree attitude shows a distinct lack of respect to Mr Edwards status, his movie knowledge, his cinematic enthusiasm and Mandy's computational capabilities too! You won't find this behaviour from Mr Earl on his My New Football Club Podcast. He wouldn't have the brass-neck to treat Exeter City fans with such a lax attitude as they'd 'ave 'im (especially the "Tops Off Lads"! Mr Edwards deserves the same respect! More movies, less breakfast!Read full review »

More reviews of Random Movie Generator with David Earl and David Edwards
Absolutely charming, wonderful and hugely insightful movie podcast from the greatest audio duo making pods today. Earl and Edwards dynamic is such a joy to listen in on. David Edwards has such a unique and interesting perspective on the world of cinema. Can’t rate this highly enough - unmissable.

My only issue is how easily David earl can get bored and then make David edwards do an impression of an animal during his reviews that feels quite demeaning and rude.

Once you’ve listened to one episode you won’t be able to stop yourself from listening to another.
