Enjoyable & Educational
This is great. I like being able to read the recipe, then hearing how they actually did the recipe, then hearing what they’d do in the future. Cooking along ahead of time would be fun and someday I might do that, but I got a lot out of hearing the shows before making my own turkey and stuffing this week. I’m probably going to re-listen to the stuffing episode while making my own on Thursday. Comparing three recipes is not at all important to me. It’s cool, but I’d still enjoy it if they just all cooked one or two. I really get a lot out of hearing the larger picture of how this recipe relates to other dishes and how it can be changed and adapted. For reference, I like cooking and cook for my family (husband and 4 year old twins) most nights, but I don’t have a culinary background of any kind. I make substitutions and change things if it’s going wrong, but I almost always have a recipe or two that I’m working from. I love that this show is starting from that familiar, accessible point (recipe in hand) and then goes into adapting and improving from there. And I’m good with the swearing.
