I didn’t know the full extent of what had happened and am shocked at how little has been addressed. Thanks for giving a voice to all of these brave women Orla.

I’ve only recently heard of the mother baby homes since watching The Woman in the Wall and I can’t believe the trauma and heartbreak all these people went through, and also that it’s not been bigger news. Some doc podcasts can sound a bit too excited to tell listeners the ‘drama’, but this was...Read full review »

Very brave women & men who shared their harrowing memories of child abduction & incarceration. Which for many will never be righted. Well done to those who brought this podcast to the public.

Very moving stories and heart-sending testimonies on an Ireland that brutalised sisters 😞

A very good podcast. However, I did find the constant references to a government minister by his last name to be slightly disrespectful. Why not just say “the minister” or even his first name?

Thank you for joining those who have been highlighting this dreadful reality. No politician should rest easy until each & every child’s body is identified & each & every survivor is acknowledged and looked after as they should be

I was adopted in the English system so I’ve been lucky to be able to trace my family. Listening to these stories makes me realise just how lucky. The voices are so powerful and the Irish state’s response, religious and political, is an obscenity. Well done to the Journal and Orla.

I was born in a mother and baby institution and adopted. You never recover from a primal wound. Thank you Orla for this podcast and all of the work you’ve done over the last few years

How is this still ongoing? Nothing being done to bring people, the criminals, to justice still being protected and the victims being dismissed and NOT heard over and over!!! What have they all got to hide in the government? Who are they protecting? Great work giving these survivors and family...Read full review »

Heartbreaking to listen to what these women and children went through. Important to hear the stories. Criminal what the church has gotten away with.

A much needed podcast, that gives voices to the victims. This podcast sheds light on an awful era of Irish history and questions why the government is so adamant in protecting religious institutions and not the victims. More podcasts like this are needed to truly capture the hold religious...Read full review »
