“If you like classic console RPGs or just have a sense of humor you have to give this podcast a chance. The premise for this podcast is perfect: the two hosts play a classic RPG and then discuss it at length. This isn't just a review of the games or a step-by-step walkthrough, but rather a conversation about the high and low points of each game filled with jokes (most of them off color) and Derek and Don raging about whatever or whoever is pissing them off at the moment. The hosts have been friends since high school and their repoire is incredible. The off topic rants are funny and enjoyable and the actual game-related discussion is even better.
I have listened to every episode more than once in the few months since I discovered this podcast and I urge you to give it a chance. Even when I disagree with their views I can't help but enjoy the way that they convey them. As a 32 year old who grew up playing Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and other RPGs, this podcast is right in my wheelhouse.
