“My golden age of gaming was in the early 1990s. I fondly remember The SNES RPG era. I was looking for a podcast that could help me relive some of those great memories. Luckily, I found it.
The three hosts certainly put in the work. Drudging completely through retro RPGs is no small feat. It's nice that they play or replay these games immediately before discussing them. Each game gets about two or three episodes dedicated to it. On each episode, the hosts discuss their experiences with the game so far--right up until the game's completion.
Every player has a different experience when playing old school RPGs; that relationship between the screen and the player is a pretty personal experience. It's fun hearing each host's different perspective on these games; that's really what makes the show.
The hosts have a nice rapport with each other. Their chemistry keeps things humorous and light hearted. They aren't afraid to go off topic, which I feel is a benefit to the listener. The show is informative, but doesn't get stale or repetitive.
If you enjoyed classic RPGs (particularly during the SNES era) than I recommend giving the show a shot.”Read full review »

“They go off on tangents and sometimes take a long time to get to the game they're talking about, but it works. The free-flowing conversational nature of it makes it relaxing to listen to, like playing the game with your friends. Very relatable. If foul language bothers you, RUN AWAY! Good job...”Read full review »
