“Revisionist history is not holocaust denial. Revisionist history is an academic pursuit to reinterpret historical events to, as the description states, uncover or reveal aspects of that history that may have been overlooked. Part of that may mean applying different theoretical lenses to a set of historical phenomena to understand them better.
For instance, certain groups (i.e. women, minority or oppressed groups, etc.) or perspectives may have been long left out of the historical narrative surrounding a particular event, and we now have to understand those perspectives and find out how they fit within the narratives we've previously established. This may entail editing or completely overhauling a historical account to provide a more accurate portrayal of the event in question.
Another aspect could be as simple as new evidence surfacing that run contrary to our long held views on an event, leading us to reinterpreting or re-situating that event while incorporating that new evidence into the narrative.
The cliche that "history is written by the victors" also reveals why we may want to remain skeptical of historical accounts and that we must be searching for new evidence that may contradict dominant claims.”Read full review »
“I thought the first episode was really interesting and thought provoking. Gladwell makes a compelling argument for tokenism. Looking forward to next episodes.”

“I haven't listened to the whole podcast and might be wrong, but it seems to be a lot like Stuff You Missed In History Class. They do that type of stuff often. I also think that this podcast might be trying to take on too much work.”Read full review »
