Solid podcast!
I’ve listened to about a dozen or so of their episodes so far (I’m planning to go through the rest of them soon!) and I’ve found them very enlightening and encouraging. I may not always agree with a given speaker or message but it’s been good to hear from the different voices throughout the church’s history. I also appreciate that the hosts don’t import too much of their theology into the podcast. I mean, not that that couldn’t be a good thing, or what have you, but just that it’s helpful to have a somewhat neutral background in this kind of presentation. Lastly, I am grateful for the many faithful preachers we have had in the history of the church and, again, mostly due to differences or disagreements, I may not have a tendency to seek out what pastor X or professor Y specifically taught or preached, but listening to this podcast I am presented with those doctrines. What’s interesting is that while I may not find their theology in line with Scripture, in many cases it’s simply in the wrong or an improper category. It’s not that it’s (always) totally off based but that doctrine a belongs in category 1, not 2, if that makes sense without being too specific in this, what should probably be a, somewhat brief review. What I mean is that there is a good amount of solidarity in terms of Scripture and core doctrines (ugh, I hate that term, but what I mean is those teachings most associated, generally, with Christianity, though somewhat differing in interpretations, etc) throughout the centuries and I see now that there is much congruity in this (that being said, I do think the church is ever reforming, in a sense, though the Scriptures were once for all handed down to the Apostles). Anyway, I love the dialogue and the way they present a balanced view or discussion of the person and their teaching (and whatever controversy surrounds them) and that there are simply so many episodes of this. There’s a lot to go through that I probably wouldn’t otherwise sit down and read and study on my own. Keep up the excellent work, y’all!

More reviews of Revived Thoughts
I’ve been listening for a while. It’s great to hear sermons from those who have gone before us. However, most of the sermons, excluding the church fathers, are from white men. Christianity is much more diverse than that. People need to hear from others who are different than they are.

These podcasts are so well done that not only do you hear a great sermon but learn some context that makes each sermon come to life. Thanks to the team.
