Great show, has been refined and improved a ton over the years

Listening to these old sermons made me wonder if really anything is new under the sun; there is nothing new under the sun in this journey of my faith in the Lord, people who had lived before me have been through the same struggles and joy in the knowing the Lord. I am not missing out on anything...Read full review »

A podcast recreating sermons from the past. Sermons from Chrysostom to Spurgeon and points between. Always good to listen to how those who have gone before have understood the Faith. By the way, anyone know what the song is that closes out the show?

Well done podcast, I have been listening for months now. It is easy to forget what the previous generations faced so the context of the time, circumstances and situations that happened during each sermon. The London Fire was my favorite, such fascinating stuff played out.

Love the show guys, got turned on by a friend at church and have been really enjoying it. I appreciate the background for the preachers or subject and the modernized language of the sermons that you do, I would imagine that’s difficult sometimes. I also really like that you use people who aren’t...Read full review »

I really enjoy this podcast which I’ve listened to for at least a year. They discuss sometimes obscure Jesus Followers which often are overlooked in many Christian history books. Hearing the actual sermons read is especially appreciated.

I am truly blessed by these testimonies and the sermons of these faithful saints. Jesus did not just use these men during their time on Earth but to make ripples throughout eternity. I can’t thank you enough for sharing these treasures with me.

This podcast brings back old sermons from heroes of the faith from many, many years ago. It reminds me that the God I serve is the same yesterday and today and the truths He teaches are timeless. I’m so grateful for these sermons and the biographies of these pastors from the past. I would make...Read full review »

Great concept but I wish you would do some research on some of the revivals started by some of these preachers. I was raised in Laestadism, the revival started by Lars Levi Laestadius and his sermon is nothing like I ever heard growing up. Laestadians today don't even understand the concept...Read full review »

I love this podcast! Being a fan of history and a Believer I particularly enjoy Church History! I have really been enjoying binge listening! Many of the preachers I’ve heard of, but I still learn something new about them from the overview before the sermon. I’ve also learned of godly men I had never heard of before. Thanks guys and keep up this great ministry please!

Guys thanks so much for the podcast!! I really like them and I’ve listen to a ton of shows already. I like that it’s funny but insightful. I like how you do a little background on these people because most of them I don’t know. It’s been great to hear their sermons at length. Love it so much....Read full review »

Love these! But I think these would benefit many more people if they included non-western European/Caucasian men and women. I would love to hear from pastors in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe/Middle East, and of course from minorities in the U.S. Where is Dr. King?! Also what...Read full review »

I’ve been listening for a while. It’s great to hear sermons from those who have gone before us. However, most of the sermons, excluding the church fathers, are from white men. Christianity is much more diverse than that. People need to hear from others who are different than they are.

This is easily one of the best concepts for a Christian podcast I ever heard. I’m new to this podcast. Listened to the first sermon. Can appreciate what is trying to be achieved. Thanks One problem is the music that suddenly is dubbed over the sermon towards the end. It’s nice to hear these sermons but I find all the chit chat before the sermons a bit irritating. The hosts need to refine their intros a bit more, including enunciating language properly. Troy and Joel (great name) are the real deal. I interviewed them for my own podcast, because I believe their work is a necessary antidote to historical shallowness in the modern church. Plus, how cool is it to be able to hear from historical preachers! Keep up the excellent work, gents.

I really like the ideas of the podcasts that you guys have done. Ive listened to about 7 or 8 and my only slight problem is I find the narration of the sermon quite hard to follow along with.
