Fascinating. Inspiring. Funny. Occasionally depressing. Just like real life
As a fan of anarchist theory & a sociology student this is really fulfilling & simulating. Knowing that there’s a rich history behind my goals and interests is amazing. I don’t always agree on everything said here, and the hosts clearly have a bias, but they allow for multiple perspectives and analyze their own positions while also defending what they believe. This might just be an effect of narcotizing dysfunction but I feel like I’m more equipped to understand and cope with today’s socio-political history after learning from the podcast. I love hearing Nick & Jared critique each other's ideas, as it brings a dynamic aspect to the information being examined, demonstrates robust academic discoures (usually) without the clash of egos that is so commonplace in Uni, and exemplifies incredibly smart people who view learning as continuous and fluid (as opposed to ‘finishing learning’ after graduation). I also really appreciate Jarred’s ways of approaching history, especially the attention to the functions of narrative and myth. It has made me see the discipline in a new light, as my previous exposure to historical thought was pretty much just high school. Nick is great too. Sociology homies represent! Thanks for making the trip work a lot more interesting!Read full review »

Really cool and taught me a lot about my culture. You went deep into the history and I appreciate it. Never heard any of this from my parents or family. Gonna try and do my own research. Totally inspired. Thanks for being an awesome tourist!!!
