“I already enjoy the writing of both Maria and Nate, and this show faithfully captured both of their work in the podcast format. If you like their writing, you'll like this show. The first episode fell neatly into their wheel-houses and really showed off both of their ability to offer insights into small things, but also connect them to larger things. The discussion of Caitlin Clark and women's basketball was particularly interesting and thought-provoking. What pleasantly surprised me was how well they seem to fit together. Setting aside the mold first show awkwardness, their interests seem well-aligned and their approaches really complimentary. Most important, however, is that it's obvious from the first show that they aren't always going to agree, and that sort of intellectual conflict should be really good for the show, especially as they become more comfortable in disagreement.”Read full review »

“Nate, did you lose too much money playing poker? Honestly, Nate is still Nate, so that’s a known quantity. Now he is just mediated to us through an ad-filled haze.”

Maria, on the other hand, more often than not parrots widely...”Read full review »

“Nate can do better without Pushkin! No way I’ll pay Pushkin just for Nate.
I read Nate’s books and follow his pods. I get Malcolm Gladwell cofounded Pushkin and wrote books, but his annoying voice doesn’t have to be this much in this pod. Pay someone else reads the ads.”
