Two excellent thinkers who should work very well together
I already enjoy the writing of both Maria and Nate, and this show faithfully captured both of their work in the podcast format. If you like their writing, you'll like this show. The first episode fell neatly into their wheel-houses and really showed off both of their ability to offer insights into small things, but also connect them to larger things. The discussion of Caitlin Clark and women's basketball was particularly interesting and thought-provoking. What pleasantly surprised me was how well they seem to fit together. Setting aside the mold first show awkwardness, their interests seem well-aligned and their approaches really complimentary. Most important, however, is that it's obvious from the first show that they aren't always going to agree, and that sort of intellectual conflict should be really good for the show, especially as they become more comfortable in disagreement.Read full review »
