Kathryn is a great Radio journalist. She is intelligent, knowledgeable and get the best out of the people she interviews. Most of all, she is not one of those prima Donna “radio/TV” personalities who always put himself/herself above the interview. Too many of them in NZ’s media industry...Read full review »

Go ahead I don’t care if you’re a boy I just don’t care what anybody else says or do I care if I say what you think I just want

Kathryn Ryan is a national treasure. Who else can be so lucid for long form discussion on every topic from sports and farming, to literature with a stop in economics and policy?

Great topics covered and interviewees, but the host doesn’t give them enough time to speak (and spends each interview commenting on the time remaining).

often seems like the interviewee here, talking over her guests with her sanctimonious sludge. Hard. Very hard to listen to.

Katheryn is such an impressive host who manages to combine intellectual interviews on an amazingly wide range of deep and/or sensitive topics. Head and shoulders above most others. I compare her to a wonderful host for the BBC who managed to “drop a word in the ear of the nation”. Kathryn does...Read full review »

Love listening to the in-depth discussions on such a vast range of topics. Kathryn is well informed and asks in-depth and pertinent questions in a respectful manner.

Great guests but an incredibly annoying host. I enjoy so much more when Katherine is away and the guest hosts allow the subjects to talk without interjecting their unwanted opinion. Come on RNZ - let someone else take the show where it needs to go.

Used to always listen to RNZ but they are now way to biased and never air other viewpoints. Infuriating that our hard earned taxes pay for such propaganda.

Just listening in England, U.K and. The stories from England being told are all on Twitter and various social networks and about 3-4 days late. #lazyjournalism

Kathryn Ryan is just too fantastic. My only regret is that I am unable to listen to it live as I am at work!! Just as well there are podcasts, RNZ App and website. Keep it up. You make me proud to be a New Zealander. Please discard any critics. You are so able to see the multiple sides of a...Read full review »

She is a breath of fresh air - a pleasing relief from the antagonistic approach of Morning Report which I have stopped listening to because it concentrates on trivia, is politically biased, and fails to report meaningful news in a balanced way. Keep the faith Kathryn, you are an oasis on sea of...Read full review »

Kathryn never fails to disappoint. She puts her guests at ease with compassion and asks considered intelligent questions enabling them to convey information without feeling stressed. Sometimes it feels like a free university lecture.

I have listened to Kathryn Ryan since her first day hosting Nine-To-Noon. She is intelligent, fair and the best interviewer in New Zealand. I always feel that I have learned something listening to her show.

Yup we podcast the show and listen to it daily.

The best current affairs presenter on RNZ by miles. Always easy to listen to, Kathryn doesn’t resort to the rude, bullying, arrogant questioning tactics that are de rigeur these days even when dealing with contentious issues / participants

My favourite RNZ presenter (and it is a tough call) love the segments with Matt Hooton and Stephen Mills (although I feel the left could perhaps be better represented) and my second favourite segment is with Rod Oram.

Kathryn is amazing and probably one of the best presenters on radio just now.
Lejdhh via Apple Podcasts · New Zealand · 02/20/17
Gosh Kathryn Ryan is hard to listen to! She's always shuffling her papers, breathing into the mic, and the syllabince is awful! I can't believe it's my $35 earphones that are picking up these 'qualities', so I'm putting it down to appalling mic technique - such a pity as...Read full review »
