“Having listened to all of the episodes that have been released so far (6) and I think all the pieces (solid audio quality, likeable characters, the right session length and good chemistry) are there for the podcast to become a great one, but there a few elements that hold it back at the moment, in my opinion. Nothing that couldn't be fixed though.
Here are my suggestions to improve the podcast:
- Shorten the Intro. It often takes more than 5 minutes to get into the action and most of that stuff is fairly irrelevant to the story of the adventure. Move system discussions to the end of the podcast (just like with the Alien Archive discussion and the outtakes) and shorten the RPG history intro or replace it with a "Last time on Roll for Combat". I know it is cheesy and clicheed, but it is helpful for the listener to get back into the action and the story.
- Practice different voices. I know it was mentioned that it isn't something the group generally does, but I think it is important for the GM to do different voices for different NPCs, because it makes it much easier for the listener to distinguish the different NPCs.
- Be more descriptive. I think the character actions could be described slightly more dramatic or heroic, to pull the listener more in and to give adventure a more epic feeling.
Besides that: Keep the good work up, keep on having fun (it is contagious!) and I'll keep on listening. I would recommend this to people who are interested in Starfinder and want to get a general feel for it.”Read full review »

“It's fun to listen to these guys - they seem like a great bunch of dudes.
This was also a great way to get a taste of Starfinder - I've definitely decided that I would like to pick the system up and get my friends to play!”
