I'm Late to the Party But...
This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. I really love the way that John breaks down the story, and stays faithful to the original retelling. I have always wanted to read TROTK, but its length and sheer number of characters was very intimidating. This is a great way to learn about a vital part of Chinese history and culture. I also love John's (infrequent) editorializing. He always says what I'm thinking! I laughed, I cheered, 10/10 would listen to again. I've been recommending it to everyone, and when I'm done with this one, I'm going to start on his next one about the Heroes of the Water Margin.Read full review »

John Zhu is truly accomplishing what he set out to do, which is bridge the cultural gap and bring this Chinese classic to life. John is an entertaining reader who brings out the personality of all the divergent characters. Truly great work.
