Entertaining audiobook podcast
I originally read "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" novel, English translation, six years ago and was confused as to why it had such a following based on what I had read. As a teen, I played the Dynasty Warriors series and thought a video game spin-off must be based on a masterpiece of a book. Yet, the translation was underwhelming and the book pelted me with outdated verbiage and overwhelmed me with names of individuals who ultimately proved to be insignificant in the novel. Mr. Zhu's interpretation of the novel has brought it to life and has made it an entertaining listen. In addition, he doesn't bore you with insignificant details; rather, he emphasizes that which is relevant to the core of the novel's story. I am most appreciative of his efforts.Read full review »
