A bit overdue...
As a new hunter, I enjoy listening podcasts like Meateater, but found it frustrating to listen to a podcast that rarely related to hunting in BC, Canada. I voiced this to a friend who pointed me in the direction of the Rookie Hunter Podcast. Although they were already 40+ episodes in, I began listening to these guys from their first podcast, binge listening on my way to and from work. It was amazing to listen to the change in character, views and experience of the hosts, Mike and Kelly, over just a few hunting seasons. The information and stories they continue to provide make you feel as though you're experiencing the whole process at their side. This being my first season, I was overwhelmed in receiving a couple LEH draws; one of which being an archery Elk on the the island. I wrote in for advise and although I didn't fully understand at the time, they answered my questions as best they could. I haven't got my elk yet, but I was successful at filling an LEH doe tag on my own. I wouldn't have had the confidence to do so without the contribution of the Rookie Hunter Podcast. Thank you Mike and Kelly! I hope you guys keep going.Read full review »
