Ugh!
Full disclosure: I didn't last past the 8 1/2 minute mark! I thought it weird that the family would do this without the slightlest sense of shame in their voice, I mean, they are not responsible for their previousl generation's evil acts but, they even sound a bit giddy-like they are really loving the attention. But back to the review and why I didn't last listening which you might want to give it a try for a bit longer. The SENTIMENTALISM! There are the type of 'This is Us' audience that love sentimentalism and emotionalism. The first few minutes starts with, presumably the two hosts, introducing the story by introducing their deceased Mother and they decided to do this by going through some of her belongings. Well, I understand that this process would elicit some emotions, PERSONAL emotions which to me is not something that I want to listen to. This content belongs in a blog or their FB page not a podcast of the content introduced in the trailer. I'm out! The first episode was just released and people were already giving it five stars for the trailer or to just ask where are the episodes! Clearly the concept 'review' was not taken seriously. Maybe these are just friends and family giving them a push so that they show up somewhere and people click on it. Again: I'm out!Read full review »

Episode 1 was awesome. Received my alert for next episode. So excited. Hit play, turns out it was a trailer for episode 2. So disappointed. Come on. You had a trailer in the beginning. Not fair. Stop teasing. Lame.

This is very compelling. It is a fascinating story of historical significance and the narrators are doing a great job. All of the negative reviews are from negative people that wouldn’t know good storytelling if it slapped them in the face.
