I absolutely loved listening to Pam talk about her life, she is an absolute delight. Her life growing up was so tough - her story was hard to listen to in parts - it’s truly an example of what can be achieved when you keep going until you find your niche. No careers advice in those days. I...Read full review »

Thank you Gyles and Harriet for this extra delight! Very interesting, times and places and people. 1959; nicely put together, and Gyles, quick and considerate with that easy humour.

An interesting show and the only podcast where I genuinely look forward to the advertisement about the show’s sponsor.

Really enjoyed hearing Pam and she came across as such a genuine and warm person. I really enjoy this series but I did think that Gyles didn’t come across well when laughing at Pam’s tough beginning. I was pleased that she took him up on it because he showed a lack of respect and understanding.

I’ve just finished listening to the back catalogue and am now eagerly awaiting new episodes. Gyles’ lively dialogues and familiar way with the guests makes this such a pleasant listen. Ignore those who complain about Gyles talking. Who wants a robotic interviewer?

Rosebud is just the most wonderful thing. Not only is it entertaining, but I’m learning so much along the way. I thought, particularly, Terry Pendry, Stephen Fry and Miriam Margoyles’ episodes were particularly wonderful. Thank you Gyles!

I really enjoyed Maggie Smith and Kathleen Turner being interviewed together. As it ended I did have a few tears (in the street on my walk home) but was so happy to have listened. How different they both are, but both so interesting. Thank you Gyles xx

What a joy it was to hear this lovely interview with this fabulous woman. I love these podcasts and enjoy listening to them each week. I loved this interview with Terry, it was fascinating to hear a down to earth man talking about the late Queen and Prince Philip so honestly and with such humility. I love listening to Rosebud at night as I’m a chronic insomniac and this has been my favourite to date. Thank you Giles Ps . Please...Read full review »

A great programme - love listening to this series but the Terry Pendry episode is extremely special. I have never commented before on any podcast but this was a magical episode. Please consider doing more from the late Queen’s household. You handle the guests beautifully. A joy to listen to.

I so enjoy these interviews but it’s terribly frustrating that Gyles talks over his guests, interrupts and doesn’t let them finish what they’re saying. Better manners please, GB!

Gyles has a wonderful, calm and effortless interviewing style. Always entertaining, often enlightening and the perfect antidote to the noise of other podcasts. He seems to elicit real honesty in the guests who are relaxed and open in their answers.

Hello, I found this podcast by a chance as it popped up on my suggestions. It’s very moving, varied, funny yet it does what’s on the label: recalls our first memories, sensations, feelings. In the world of podcasts, Gyles Brandreth uses his own style to interview his friends, a humorous reflection on the lives of his interviews, a breath of fresh air, a career of with diversions of politics and a healthy contribution to the world of satire over the years.

Gyles is such a great interviewer and gets some real depth and authentic conversations from his guests, while interjecting a few of his own anecdotes into the conversation as well. It is such a refreshing podcast with some really moving; and thought provoking questions. So worth it.
