I used to love this, but I can’t anymore…
The episode about French workers at McDonalds was just pure unabashed corporate propaganda. Horrible. If it was paid for by McDonalds, I would think it was heavy handed greenwashing. But it seems the team honestly thought this was unbiased journalism. What was a story of worker solidarity and union busting turned into a weird puff piece. The main use for this particular piece would be to teach a class on greenwashing. Spot the reframing. Gross! Just disgusting journalism. So confusing, as so many of the other episodes seemed so nice. But now I wonder what other stories they are misrepresenting…

Sounds like something unusual, well scored, and tonally interesting. Like a Radiolab for international stories. It doesn't sound political, either, so I'm not sure why all the Shapiro trolls came out to rag on it. Can I just give something a chance without some rondo's mionions...Read full review »

Gregory Warner is one of the most thoughtful correspondents on radio, and the fact that he gets to go deep on stories in his own podcast is a very encouraging sign.
