“I’ve had a Lovehate relationship with this podcast for years, however, credit where due, the latest coverage of the all Blacks tour has been superb.
Massive credit to Paul Grayson and Ian Jones, they managed to combine cool calm analysis, with characterful and accessible commentary. Ian Jones is so engaging it is impossible not to like him, similarly with Paul Grayson, I could listen to them both for hours.
Their style certainly rubbed off on the host, instead of his tendency to nitpick and try to be provocative, he rose to their level and contributed to the success of the podcast.
I also think the players and managers post match interviews were far better than normal because they weren’t asked needlessly provocative and”gotcha” type questions, so they opened up more and it was far more interesting as a result.
I’m not saying this to be controversial, but it was also delightful just to have a “man’s” hour, it’s not much to ask and it works far better.”
