Terrific coverage of the NZ tour. Some helpful questioning from CJ, but the outstanding aspect for me was the punditry of Paul Grayson and the great Ian Jones. Both provided measured and insightful analysis, and really interesting to hear a deeper, more thoughtful opinion going beyond some of...Read full review »

I’ve had a Lovehate relationship with this podcast for years, however, credit where due, the latest coverage of the all Blacks tour has been superb. Massive credit to Paul Grayson and Ian Jones, they managed to combine cool calm analysis, with characterful and accessible commentary. Ian Jones is...Read full review »

Dreadful, spent the whole podcast interrupting Alex Lowe. Needs to shut up, and let the guests speak. Always trying to get his opinion aired - very poor host, no clue how to get the best out of the guests.

Love the pod and the banter between Ugo, Danny, Chris and Ashy.

Thanks Chris Jones for the DOR episode was a great listen even as a Chiefs fan a fascinating insight into the state of the game in England at the moment

Great to see Ashy bringing Jonesy down a peg or two - mentioning Deliveroo as a side hustle to a public school boy who commentates on the rugby and the rowing was genius!!!!!

As this is so loved why isn’t it done weekly to go over the URC ?

Chris seems an excitable chap.. which is fine, but maybe a little more structure to the questions.. they seem a touch long winded.. less is more said Ritchie Benaud..

Really getting fed up with this. Take a lesson from Lineker, Shearer etc. on being clinical and brief, and fair.

Been a listener for the last 4 years. But in recent months i have found myself stopping podcasts halfway through and deleting them as they’re just drivel and often opinions that seem to be said to be controversial or difficult, Ugo i’m looking at you. By far the best podcast about rugby. A great combination of fun and banter, but really high quality analysis on every pod, by people who played at the highest level. Matt Dawson’s appreciation for great play transcends nationality and his love of the game reminds me of Bill McLaren.

Can we have more Chris Ashton, Danny Care and less the other podcasters. Ugo is so boring. The other speakers are pointless too. In fact let’s just have care and ashton please.

Nobody can disagree with entitled Ugo without generating a disingenuous ‘what!?’ Or a ‘how can you say that?!’ Or ‘are you serious?!’ How dare anyone challenge Ugo. I was in a minibus with 15 rugby players. Every single one shouted to turn off the Rugby Union Daily because of Ugo and his...Read full review »

GroTom rock … very emotional, funny and can laugh at themselves. I always have a laugh out loud while listening to good ruby chat about teams other than England.

Overall I’m a big fan and the balance of serious informed analysis, knowledgeable and current players, banter and fun is very well managed. As one other review said, Ugo’s fake laugh is becoming quite annoying. It comes across as seriously passive aggressive . I’m sure it isn’t meant that way but...Read full review »

There are other teams and unions to talk about in the uk. It’s getting a bit embarrassing now the amount of talk England get. Please can we have a mix and include talk About the URC, should be 50/50 content between Prem and the URC not 98/2!!

In the same way most of us don’t like trans-women in the women’s game, please can we keep female journalists and commentators away from the men’s game. Having never played a minute of the men’s game they just don’t have the insight. Equally, the majority of people tune into this pod to catch up...Read full review »

Have always enjoyed this pod, interesting, informed and fun without the banter taking the tedious “laddie” turn of some other rugby pods. But I have to say, the addition of Ashy as a regular has taken it to another level. His forthright opinions were expected (and welcomed) but who knew he was...Read full review »

I listen to the pod every week and really enjoy it. Love how the “Badger” maintains the line and constantly impressed by his rugby knowledge. The host takes shots at Ireland. England played one real team this tournament. They lost. Ireland bet the same team. Make sure the draw wins your player of the tournament.

Great guests giving genuine insight but the journalist host loves the sound of his voice too much for me to give him five stars, he’s blathering on stating the obvious and talking over guests …..know your place!

I was unable to watch the quarterfinal matches this weekend and had recorded them, and assiduously avoided sports news so I could watch the games and experience the thrill of not knowing how it would turn out. Enjoying most of the podcasts, but I find it heavily revolves around England. As for the top ten of World Cup coaches,I can’t believe that they put an eye doctor before Warren Gatland.

Let’s call it for what it is and change the title. Love the insight of the whole team and the dynamic is great but coverage is so English rugby focused during the standard season and England heavy when it comes to the internationals. It’s improved slightly this World Cup but even then discussion...Read full review »

The pod is great, especially the variety but for the love of something holy please stop the football ads, 3 per episode!!! Such a shame as it takes away so much from the excellent and varied content.

I used to like this podcast but Dawson’s anti-charm combined with the group’s lazy parroting of opinions are dragging it down. Is it physically impossible for pundits to talk about Fiji without mentioning that they are “everybody’s second team”?
MDAS1988 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/20/23
Normally a great pod with quality presenters and guests, but it’s time for a change. Get rid of Ugo. He is becoming too patronising and self promoting and perhaps should have less red wine when he is working

Single-handedly crucified bbc cycling coverage during the 2019 Tour de France, and now let loose with his dour, unknowledgeable views on rugby. Did this bloke ever play rugby at any sort of decent level? And what is it exactly he has against the Scots? He was noticeably absent from the nations...Read full review »

Great pod today! Hilarious listening to Dawson trying the humility approach. Didn’t last long before proceeding to intricately detail how great they were (and they were). Great player he was undoubtedly was, but leave the humility at home, it’s one thing he can’t carry!

Surprise surprise welshman Gareth Rhys Owen slags off England v Argentina game. Shocker! It took irish/scotsman Tom English to add a balanced opinion. 14 men so meant result only, end of. If they’d had 15 men i’d have been appalled.
D-sgrace via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/13/23
The BBC should be embarrassed. The pro English / anti other ‘home nations’ is in full effect. Label it as an English rugby podcast and we’d all have more sympathy for their cheerleading.
'BlueMonkey' via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/11/23
Last episode was meant to be a review on the home nations at the World Cup. First but they talk Fiji up for 15 minutes and Dismiss Wales despite Wales winning.
