The pod is great, especially the variety but for the love of something holy please stop the football ads, 3 per episode!!! Such a shame as it takes away so much from the excellent and varied content.

I used to like this podcast but Dawson’s anti-charm combined with the group’s lazy parroting of opinions are dragging it down. Is it physically impossible for pundits to talk about Fiji without mentioning that they are “everybody’s second team”?

Normally a great pod with quality presenters and guests, but it’s time for a change. Get rid of Ugo. He is becoming too patronising and self promoting and perhaps should have less red wine when he is working

Single-handedly crucified bbc cycling coverage during the 2019 Tour de France, and now let loose with his dour, unknowledgeable views on rugby. Did this bloke ever play rugby at any sort of decent level? And what is it exactly he has against the Scots? He was noticeably absent from the nations...Read full review »

Really love the insights of this pod with pundits close to the action.. the nations pod has potential to bring parity to Scotland, Ireland and wales as it is an England heavy show in general.. The Welsh correspondent is Uber dull and disrespectful in his opinionated remarks but thankfully that’s...Read full review »

Great pod today! Hilarious listening to Dawson trying the humility approach. Didn’t last long before proceeding to intricately detail how great they were (and they were). Great player he was undoubtedly was, but leave the humility at home, it’s one thing he can’t carry!

Surprise surprise welshman Gareth Rhys Owen slags off England v Argentina game. Shocker! It took irish/scotsman Tom English to add a balanced opinion. 14 men so meant result only, end of. If they’d had 15 men i’d have been appalled.

The BBC should be embarrassed. The pro English / anti other ‘home nations’ is in full effect. Label it as an English rugby podcast and we’d all have more sympathy for their cheerleading.

Good to hear Ashton and Beattie, such great content. Ugo keeps talking about himself, blowing his own trumpet ie Macron sitting behind me etc. he also continually interrupts- time to move him on, he’s a drag to listen too.

Last episode was meant to be a review on the home nations at the World Cup. First but they talk Fiji up for 15 minutes and Dismiss Wales despite Wales winning. They spend the next 10 minutes being kinder to Scotland despite them loosing. Then talk about England as of they are on their way to win...Read full review »

Hi - really enjoying the show- even more so as I’m laid up following knee surgery. Shame it’s coincided with the World Cup! 😂 Even though not much to look forward to on the pitch from an England perspective- I’m looking forward to every episode with you guys….

Considering the line up. Felt embarrassed FOR Brian being associated with this drivel. Matt Dawson will forever be a World Cup hero but an embarrassment every time he opens his mouth. Sorry guys but an awful podcast…the only saving grace is Ugo not there … phew !

Typical of the BBC, only they could arrange a kangaroo court under the guise of a podcast to undermine the English rugby team. The agenda for the whole program was clear from the off.

Chris Jones really is phenomenal, I dread the day he moves into a different sport/more senior job at the beeb. I’ve had enough.... This is called rugby union weekly, not the “Danny care pod” If we want to hear a joey from friends style monologue about peanuts and how much he should play for England....just set up a separate pod.. ... and now it’s happened, the episode is devoted to worship him while Ugo’s...Read full review »

Brilliant podcast with great insight and journalism. I’ve been listening for years but the latest coaches episode has compelled me to write this. Where else would you get to hear from four coaches at the defining point of their season sit down together for a chat? Class.

As an Ulster and Irish rugby fan I tune into this regularly for the spot on punditry and insight of the very knowledgeable Chris Jones. Star of the show.

Will they ever just give Leinster and Ireland the credit they deserve or will we constantly hear about “continuity”? You can’t get through a discussion on either without using that dreaded word. I think the majority of people tune into this pod to catch up with the men’s game and aren’t particularly interested in the women’s game. Perhaps a separate pod could be created to specifically focus on the women’s game and retain this pod to focus exclusively on the men’s game.

Love the daily pod, great mix of pundits but you badly need an Irish voice in the group. In the final round up pod, Ireland Grand Slam champions and no one to sing their praises. Not good enough.

Absolutely love the pod. Love Danny, Ugo, Chris Ashton, all the pundits, players, experts and guest speakers. The most consistently incisive podcast. However, while I like Chris v much, recently he and (to a lesser extent) Ugo are the ones fanning/sensationalising England’s foes like “no top teams chop and change 10/12/13 like England “ - well do you think Chris that Borthwick wants to?? As the description says, I do love the pod and have listened since the very beginning but I’m starting to get a bit frustrated with Ugo’s punditry. Loads going on in rugby but instead of focusing on the facts and creating insightful analysis (rugby finances, player safety, club and league development), CJ and co still want to waffle on about Eddie Jones! Used to be good but better rugby insight available in pod land.

Supposed to be a show from the BBC, this has become an Anglocentric ramble from a couple of Harlequins players and occasionally their mate. But they are v. equivocal about Eddie Jones’ future (understandable in DC’s case, of course), pretty hard to determine whether or not they think Eddie should go. I’m surprised. Usually Ugo and Chris are v. clear in their views. And the answer seems obvious now (post Autumn internationals)…..

Apart for an occasional token look at other nations it’s all about England and English rugby. This Thursdays episode for example. 43 mins talking about England, 10 mins about Wales v Australia. Also during the regular season never a mention of the URC all about the Gallagher.
