While my own area of concentration is German history from Frederick the Great to the Third Reich, I've got enough grounding in Russian history to appreciate that Mr. Schauss is almost always on target with both his facts and his conclusions. The episodes on Stalin are particularly well done and even deducting a couple of points for the occasionally cringe inducing attempts at pronunciation of Russian proper names, it still rates as a solid five star effort.”Read full review »

“Very enjoyable. If you're looking for Edmund Morris-level narration, you may be disappointed. It took me a few episodes to warm up to Mr. Schauss's delivery.
