Insightful, Funny, Entertaining Podcast (Outlast 2 hate notwithstanding)
For those who love horror, are interested in the ways that video-games can uniquely tell stories, or who just love weirdly specific tangents about obscure genre novels and movies, Safe Room is a must-listen. As hosts, Jay and Neil are incredibly passionate about the games they cover and always strive to find positives (even when that can be difficult). Their conversations go into extreme depth, flow naturally and they always bring on insightful guests. Particular highlights are the “Horror Bytes” episodes, which shine a light on indie titles and shorter experiences that can be completed in under an hour. If you’re pressed for time when it comes to your gaming sessions or are on the lookout for some hidden gems, these podcasts will help you build a great to-do list that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s wonderful to have a podcast like this that is championing smaller devs and trying to get their work in the spotlight. I've discovered some of my favourite games of the past year because of them. All in all, Safe Room is a reliable highlight and comfort in my week. I cannot sanction their Outlast 2 bashing though.Read full review »
